Uganda Musicians’ Association (UMA) scheduled 21st May 2022 as the day to hold the association’s elections debate.
The first debate session that aired on NBS television started with contestants vying for UMA general secretary role, presided over by Anna Talia Oze and Andrew Kaggwa.
The second session was meant to have Cindy Sanyu, Lord Bitem, and King Saha who are vying for UMA presidential seat.

However, among the three presidential contenders, only two showed up as King Saha boycotted the arrangement.
King Saha’s absence is not a surprise, as his lawyers made it clear that the former would not participate in the UMA presidential debate until the election process is streamlined and handled transparently.
It should be noted that earlier today, UMA rescheduled the election date from 23rd May to 6th June 2022 following pressure from several association members.
