London-based promoter identified as Mama Africa has threatened to ban all Swangz Avenue’s artists from travelling to London until the label pays her money.
A few weeks back, Mama Africa booked Ugandan singers Winnie Nwagi and Fik Fameica to perform at her just concluded “Summer Fest” on Eid day.
She paid Swangz Avenue 50,000£ for Winnie Nwagi and agreed to pay Fic Fameika 3,000 $ with a deposit of 1,000 $
However, on the day of the event, Fic Fameica refused to step onto the stage on grounds that he first pockets his outstanding balance.
Mama Africa claims that later on, they agreed, but the two artists stepped on the stage late and performed a few songs contrary to the agreement.
The promoter goes ahead and says as if that was enough, the two artists breached the contract, by performing at another show dubbed “Chill and Grill” using her work permit.
At this point, Mama Africa attributes her show flop to Fic Fameika and Winnie Nwagi’s unethical conduct.

In an interview with a local Youtuber, Mama Africa revealed that she wrote to Swangz Avenue airing out her complaint regarding Winnie Nwagi’s breach of contract, and expects a reply from the label with an explanation not beyond Monday.
In the same interview, she stressed that she paid for Winnie Nwagi’s services 50,000 £ and she wants 65,000 £ worth of expenses or else the label’s artists will not get visas to London until she is compensated.
In Fic Fameica’s case, Mama Africa revealed that he will be handled by the home office and he may not fly to London again.
