Team Good Music artist Pallaso, born Pius Mayanja has called out club deejays who do not recognize the presence of musicians who come through to support them at their club appearances, saying it is not a sign of support despite them being in the same business.
While dissecting the state of the Ugandan music industry, Pallaso noted that the biggest problem faced by creatives is the fact that they lack support from their fellows, giving an example of Nigerians who he says have a culture of coming through for their peers; something that has made their industry great.
Pallaso has said this, specifically calling out deejays who he says have continued to snub them and neglect playing their music despite their presence. According to Pallaso, when they go out to party, they spend a lot of money in these places and the only way they feel they could be supported is to acknowledge their presence through their songs, something they do not do.
He says, just a mention at the bar could easily attract the attention of music lovers who would then support their craft. Without this support, Pallaso claims that artists end up going back into poverty despite once being on top
Pallaso’s argument stems from the time he visited one bar but was unfortunately snubbed by the MC of the night who refused to acknowledge his presence but instead only gave a shoutout to Nina Roz who was also in attendance.
This is so demoralizing that is why artists no longer go to these bars because we do not want to be disrespected and made to feel small. It is upon us to support each other amidst the situations in this country that we can’t control. In Uganda, you find an artist who once had a hit song giving up on life.

In other countries, such an artist will never go broke unless they waste their money. This system is supposed to be introduced by us, we should start loving each other’s art,” Pallaso revealed.
