Yesterday evening on January 2, 2024, Pastor Aloysius Bugingo the House of Prayer lead Pastor narrowly escaped death when unidentified gunmen targeted his car.
Although he sustained minor injuries, his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard, tragically lost his life in the attack.
This morning, Assistant Superintendent of Police Lukowoyesigyire released a statement regarding the incident. According to the statement, the assailants fired at Pastor Bugingo’s vehicle, which is registered as PRAIZ GOD, in the Namungona area of Zone 2, Kasubi Rubaga Division, Kampala.
The attack took place at Bwalakata Junction along National Housing Road, after which the perpetrators swiftly fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Despite being injured, Pastor Aloysius Bugingo managed to drive the vehicle to Mulago Hospital. Unfortunately, his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Currently, Pastor Bugingo is receiving medical treatment and is being closely monitored.
Upon receiving an expeditious response to the incident, law enforcement authorities uncovered evidence of tampering at the location. Testimonies from individuals who witnessed the event were meticulously documented, and the body of the deceased was transported to the City Mortuary at Mulago for a comprehensive postmortem analysis.

As the police actively strive for justice, they are meticulously scrutinizing closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings to ascertain the identities of the attackers and further updates are promised to be shared as soon as supplementary information is obtained.
