The Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) president, Edirisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo has joined the long list of 160 advisors after he was appointed the senior presidential adviser on creatives by the president of the country, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
His appointment is expected to help the growing and dynamic entertainment industry which has for long been demanding an amendment in the Copyright and Neighboring Rights Act 2006 which will see creatives benefit from their artistic craft.
Eddy Kenzo’s recognition and appointment have been welcomed by many considering the fact that he is in charge of the federation that brings together groups of artists.
He is expected to advise President Museveni on the issues concerning the industry and also look for ways to create opportunities that generate income for the youths in the different sectors of the industry.
His fiance, also the Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Nyamutoro Phiona took to her social media pages to congratulate him.
“Congratulations on your well-deserved appointment, Eddy Kenzo, proud of you always. Thank you, H.E Kaguta Museveni,” she posted.
Eddy Kenzo joins fellow artists like Bucha Man, Catherine Kusasira, and Full Figer as advisers.
