Sharon O shares why she prioritizes marriage and business over music career

Former Obsessions singer Nalukenge Sharon Salmon commonly known as Sharon O has opened up on why she ditched music to concentrate on marriage and her business, citing growth.

Sharon O is one of the few artists in the industry who has made great strides to live a better life. Now fully invested in her Real Estate Business and her family, the songstress and actress has been in and out of the country with little or no time to actively be involved in the music industry. Speaking in an interview, Sharon O explained that she has evolved and now has a lot of things to deal with.

I no longer release music because I have a lot of things I need to handle. We have grown up. We have evolved; we have to handle everything; marriage, children and careers altogether. If you do not see me in music, you will see me thriving somewhere else like in Real Estate and marriage, she said.

Sharon O may not be seen in the studio, but she is still venturing into music. Last year she unveiled her music label, ‘Black Horse Entertainment’ with the aim of scouting, developing, and promoting new talent. She signed her first female youngster, who later abandoned the label and disappeared without a trace.

She disappeared from me and I’m still searching for her. This shows you that I still have the passion. Whether I sing or not, I’m still in the music industry. My passion for music is still there and I’m looking forward to signing serious artists, she said.

Sharon O was part of Obsession, a prominent entertainment group back in the 2000s alongside other known members like Sheebah Karungi, Cleopatra Kyoheirwe, Hellen Lukoma, and Jackie Tusiime among others. All have gone their separate ways and are really doing well in their different career paths and family-wise.

We have evolved and are now doing some other things. We have our side hustles. We have grown up. We gave music for almost 15 years. It explains why everyone had to go in different directions. It is all part of growth I would say, she said.

Just like the former Blu*3 members who recently had their successful reunion concert in June this year, Sharon O would love to reunite the Obsessions singers for a show, promising to handle half of the budget.

We would love to reunite in a concert and I have half of the budget. Anyone ready to organize this show should come to me with the other half of the money and we do business, she said.
