Following the success of their debut film project, “Rolex”, Swangz Avenue is expanding its movie roster with the addition of “Taama”.
This 15-minute visual masterpiece has been directed by Arthur Nsubuga, who is not only an in-house film director but also an actor, producer, and colourist. The script for the film was written by Charles Kasozi.
“Taama” is a thrilling and horrifying film based on real-life events that were brought to Arthur’s attention through conversations with Charles. The director handpicked the talented actors for this project, drawing from his extensive experience in the Ugandan film industry and his previous collaborations with these individuals.
Swangz Avenue aims to diversify its portfolio as not just a premier record label, but also a content and production powerhouse. They are dedicated to creating top-quality visual content for television, online platforms, advertising, and branding assignments.
The short film will be released on Swangz Avenue’s official YouTube channel on Friday, November 17th. Starring Christiano Okitwi, Shanitah Musa Zubedah, and Daniel Mushabe, “Taama” takes place in Kampala and delivers a cautionary tale about the fleeting nature of wealth.
“We have been telling stories through music and television commercials for the past decade, and it is high time we translated these stories to the cinema. This is yet another step towards that agenda,” commented Arthur, the director.
