Carol Nantongo has strongly warned the netizens to desist from tagging her to any male artists that she relates with.
Carol Nantongo’s rant follows a video that was shared via her socials, depicting her with fellow singer Grenade Official midway through their gym session.
They were jamming to their supposed ‘Tosalawo remix’ that is yet to be released. What started as a fun video, eventually turned sour when Ugandans flooded the comment section with many assuming that the two were romantically involved.
“Everyone was saying he was done with me and I was loose. But they do not have proof of that. Such statements annoy me so much because these people do not know me and I will not come out and convince everyone that I don’t just go out with anyone who hits on me,” she said angrily.
Grenade Official had previously kept his love life a secret until recently when he shared a video clip of being cozy with his girlfriend. He has since been vocal about being in a relationship and his appearance in the gym with Carol Nantongo is undeniably about music, rather than romance.
“What do you people think we are? We are human too and you will not stop me from having male friends because of what you say. A person can write a comment and convince you that he has proof of what he is saying. Stop disrespecting us,” she said.
Carol Nantongo further revealed that she was rethinking about hanging out with male friends in public lest they assume that they are dating.
“We shall get to a point where we do not want to stay close to other people because every time we do so, you will say we are sleeping with them. What if we are in different relationships already,” she concluded.
