TV personality Faridah Nakazibwe has taken to social media to express her frustration and disappointment with UMEME Limited, the electricity service provider, citing excessive spending and unclear consumption of electricity at her home.
In a post on her X/Twitter account the former ‘Mwasuze Mutya’ show host shared her struggles, wondering how her small household was able to use the many units of power.
Faridah Nakazibwe stated how she abandoned most of her gadgets that she thought consumed a lot of power, but to her surprise, she was still being overcharged and experiencing unusual consumption rates, therefore, demanding answers from the provider.
“Dear Umeme, I need your help. How is it possible that my small household spends 200K on power for 2-3 weeks? I was forced to give up on using the washing machine and the electric side of the cooker.
The only electronics I use regularly are the flat iron, refrigerator, 2 TVs, bottle warmer, kettle and lighting inside the house. Unfortunately, I have spent exactly 1.52 million since 19th March 2024 to last night…on power alone,” she said, sharing screenshots of mobile money transactions she made purchasing electricity Faridah Nakazibwe noted.
