Uganda Musicians Association president Cindy Sanyu has implored fellow musicians to appreciate the little they’ve so far received from the Uganda Performing Right Society (UPRS).
The last few days have seen several musicians express their disappointment with UPRS following the meagre pay they received from the company.
Karole Kasita, Spice Diana, Angella Katatumba, and other musicians uploaded payment receipts online, complaining that the sum was insufficient given the length of time they had been active in the music industry.
While addressing the grievances in an interview, Cindy revealed that she is glad that UPRS has embarked on paying musicians their money after almost 15 years.
She emphasised that UPRS is currently working out how to distribute the funds among the musicians for the time being which is not an easy task.

Cindy encouraged her fellow artists to take the meagre payment they have gotten and voice their complaints the following time UPRS is reimbursing money.
