Local comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi real name Allan Mujuni has been dragged to the police over assaulting a mechanic.
On Thursday last week, Amooti took his car for servicing at one of the garages in Kampala following the engine experiencing technical issues.
Later on, Amooti picked the car, which he used to travel up-country to perform at one of the booked gigs.
To his dismay, the car continued to experience similar mechanical issues it had before being hauled in for maintenance.
This left Amooti with a sour taste in his mouth, before confronting the mechanic at the garage demanding to know why he had falsely claimed to have worked on the vehicle.
The mechanic attempted to flee when he saw Amooti, but it was too late as the comedian grabbed him and beat him up.
While speaking in an interview, the mechanic acknowledged working on Amooti’s car, adding that the comedian took it before it was ready for use.

In Amooti’s statement regarding the matter, he noted that the technician caused him to lose of UXG 600,000 by posing as an engine specialist when his area of expertise was wiring.
The new Amarula production comedian vowed not to compensate the complainant, claiming he did nothing wrong and that he is ready to go to court.
Amooti maintained that this is not the first time the mechanic is doing the same mistakes, the most recent his car made an accident almost claiming his life.
