Gagamel boss Bebe Cool has come out to discredit the videos making rounds depicting the late Radio Mowzey’s mum, Ms. Jane Kasuubo seeking financial assistance to secure a piece of land attached to the late son’s burial site.
In a recent video, Ms. Kasuubo appealed to the members of the public to help raise Ugx. 350 million to buy part of the land located in Kagga, Nakawuka in Wakiso District, claiming access to the late son’s burial site will soon be restricted because people currently cross through a privately owned land to get there.
The video birthed arguments online from Ugandans who noted that she was playing the stunt as a way of targeting the proceeds from Weasel’s first-ever concert since Radio’s death.
Bebe Cool expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision to have Radio’s mother publicly beg on the media, worse still at the time of the concert.
Bebe Cool went on to condemn Ms. Kasuubo’s statements and advised her to always consult other people before coming out with such sensitive issues on camera to avoid being misguided.
“Frank (Radio’s brother) if it is you who guided your mother to make that mistake and utter those words, that was the worst mistake you could ever do because it only showed selfishness. You could have waited three months from now to say the same if you really had to say it. But not at a time when Weasel has his first ever concert since he lost his friend. it was an indicator that you wanted him to give you his share since he was celebrating Goodlyfe, but what share has he really taken since Radio died apart from life humiliation,” the Bebe Cool said.
Weasel on many occasions has been captured on camera in compromising situations, with people tagging his unusual behavior to stress and depression of losing his music partner. There was a recent video that went viral on social media showing a seemingly wasted and unsteady Weasel visiting Alien Skin’s Fangone home. Bebe Cool asked Ms. Kasuubo Jane to instead extend grace to Weasel since he lost his other half.
“It has really been an unfair situation since the death of his brother. It has been harsh and worse for Weasel. Of course, as a mother, you lost more but it’s not only you who is going through it,” Bebe Cool said, giving an example of Jose Chameleone’s mum who lost his son AK47, one of the fastest-rising artists.
“I could not believe it because I had all my guns ready. The late Humphrey and I had had a conversation and I was behind pushing that young man. Even Weasel himself, it was Humphrey who called me because Chameleone was not interested in his brother singing because it was too rough out there,” he mentioned.
Weasel is set to hold his first-ever solo concert dubbed ‘Memories Of Goodlyfe’ today at Hotel Africana where he will treat Radio & Weasel fans down the memory lane of their nostalgic hits. Many artists are gearing up for the event which will also be used to honor the legacy and memory of one of the best songwriters and vocalists Uganda has ever had.
