Bobi Wine criticizes army for arresting locals while musicians operate freely in camouflage uniforms

Musician and politician Bobi Wine has expressed his disappointment towards the Ugandan army (UPDF) officials for arresting citizens dressed in camouflage uniforms but authenticate celebrities who step out in them.

Despite the directive from the Top army officials to the members of the general public forbidding them from donning military attire, several artists like Eddy Kenzo and Alien Skin have continuously appeared on the streets and stages dressed in the same outfits.

Bobi Wine feels this is unfair and they should be held accountable and treated the same way as everyone else since they are not part of the army.

“Musicians who wear military uniforms and go to public functions but nothing happens to them. But the same regime is arresting and detaining people claiming that what they are wearing is a military uniform even when it has a slight resemblance,” he said.

Bobi Wine’s comments come in light of Eddy Kenzo’s appearance at a performance in army pants.

On that note, he recalled his friend and die-hard fan, Bobi Young who was allegedly arrested for putting on clothes that had a slight resemblance with the attire.

“This shows the double standards and unfairness in all this and surprisingly the musicians in top positions that are supposed to act as an example do not see this,” he said.
