Singer and politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has made his first visit to London since his visa ban was lifted earlier this month.
The ban was imposed almost a decade ago due to the singer’s anti-gay sentiments. However, in November this year, Bobi Wine announced that the ban had been lifted and he was free to travel to the UK.
He arrived this morning at Heathrow Airport and was welcomed by enthusiastic fans and friends who had missed him during his absence.
While the reasons for his visit are unclear, it is believed that he may be promoting his political beliefs and gracing his People’s President documentary Movie launch in London.
Reports further suggest that Bobi Wine will meet with members of the Ugandan diaspora and human rights activists to discuss the situation in Uganda.

He may also use the opportunity to raise awareness about his political party, the National Unity Platform, and its goals for the future of Uganda.
