The Buganda Kingdom has earlier today through the Minister for Sports, Owek. Henry Ssekabembe launched a 13-member committee headed by Engineer Ben Misagga that will govern a three-year royal boat regatta.
It should be noted that the Buganda Kingdom had initiated the Royal Boat Regatta before the Covid-19 pandemic that left the world in ruins on all fronts.
One of the numerous prosperous events that the Kingdom hosted took place at Nabugabo Sandbeach and Mulungo among others.
After a three-year hiatus, Buganda has announced that the Royal Boat Regatta (Empaka Z’amaato Ez’amasaza) will resume satiating the desire of sports enthusiasts.
While addressing the press earlier today at Bulange Mengo, Owek. Henry Ssekabembe unveiled a committee that will organize, govern and promote the Buganda Royal Regatta.
The impending edition of the Royal Regatta will be themed “Sailing to good health and a safe environment.”
The 13-member committee is headed by Engineer Ben Misagga, and subordinated by Faridah Nakazibwe, Akuru Olive, Patricia Najjemba, Ronnie Mutebi, Joseph Muggaga, Batenga Nakisozi, Angella Nambooze, Maurice Mukiibi, Aisha Nassanga, Robert Lwanga Mugerwa, Hassan Kiyemba, and Derick Kavuma.
The first step of this Royal Boat Regatta edition, according to Immanuel Ben Misagga, was to engage the press, which was completed effectively today. The second step will be to outline the events over the following two to three weeks.

In contrast to previous years, chairman Ben Misagga stated that they are considering a series of actions to bring the final competition to a thrilling conclusion.
If all goes as planned, the Buganda Kingdom will hold the Royal Regatta finals in August this year.
