Gaetano Kaggwa defends Big Brother actions: ‘I have no regrets

Media personality Gaetano Kaggwa Jjuko has revealed that he has no regrets about joining the reality TV show Big Brother.

Gaetano Kaggwa was one of the many housemates who appeared on the first edition of the Big Brother live show in 2003.

In the house, he met fellow housemate, South African Abby Plaatjes, with whom he fell in love. Since it was an uncensored live show, the couple did many explicit things that some people thought were not fit for television.

Twelve years later, after exiting the house like a hero, Gaetano has no remorse for his actions despite being heavily judged.

“It wasn’t a mistake. I signed up for it, went and did my thing. There were so many things I did in the house which got people wondering. I did things with Abby on TV that got people wondering how I could do that on television before the whole world,” he said.

The very first episode of the Big Brother show attracted a large viewership from across the globe. Many people supported him, including his family, and in order to bring the money home, he had to do whatever it took to keep people glued to their screens, which included putting up an explicit show.

“I look back and say,” So what? I would do it again and exactly the same way; I wouldn’t change a thing. I enjoyed it. We had no guidance from any other Big Brother Africa because we were the first one. There was no way I could choose what to and not to do.  But if I was to go back, I would do it the same way I did it before,” Gaetano revealed.
