Rising singer Gloria Bugie has finally been released from prison where she had spent the night following her arrest on Tuesday evening.
While at a restaurant on Tuesday, the ‘Nyash’ hitmaker was nabbed by police and dragged to Jinja Road police station over her leaked and widely spread private video.
Following her release, while addressing the press, Gloria Bougie revealed that the person behind her arrest bribed the police to have her ambushed and arrested in an embarrassing manner.
Abitex was not satisfied with his report and went ahead to bribe and have me arrested at 11PM. They have been tracking us yet they had an option of summoning me to the station and answer their questions. Instead, they wanted to do it off record, Gloria Bougie said.
Immediately after her release, she went straight for her performance at the Comedy Store where she was initially booked.
Two months back, Gloria Bougie was the talk of the town after her explicit video made its way on social media platforms.
This caused widespread criticism and judgment, prompting events promoter Abitex to file a case against the singer and have her pay for her actions.

Abitex tasked the police to investigate the matter under computer misuse and pornography, leading to her arrest Tuesday.
In an interview with Spark TV, Abitex confirmed the arrest, noting that she would make a statement before being arraigned before the court on a yet-to-be-communicated date.
