The national theatre has reportedly turned down the request of honouring the late singer and actress Evelyn Nakabira alias Evelyn Lagu.
This morning the entertainment industry was devastated by the untimely death of singer Evelyn Lagu who had been battling heart and kidney complications for several years.
Upon confirming Evelyn’s death, an immediate meeting was chaired at her home in Bujuuko including Sophie Gombya, Bbosa Sserunkuuma, and Mesach Semakula among many others to discuss the singer’s funeral arrangements.
The meeting members agreed that Evelyn’s body to be laid at the National Theatre for a night for the singer’s fans and fellow musicians to pay their last respects.
However, the National Theatre plans have been dealt a heavy blow, as the theatre executive board turned down the request for reasons yet to be known.

This means that the singer’s body will continue lying at her home in Bujuuko until tomorrow when it will be transferred to her ancestral burial grounds in Masaka where she will be laid in her eternal resting place on Wednesday.
