City Pastor Aloysius Bugingo left his flock shocked after he announced that the plans to start building their mega ‘Pentagon’ church had been delayed due to insufficient funds.
For several years now, Pastor Aloysius Bugingo has been requesting funds from his church members to erect the mega building. For a considerable period, born again believers have been giving in money with hopes that the foundation would finally be laid, but during one of his sermons, Pastor Bugingo revealed they were not ready.
In his submissions, the House of Prayer Ministries lead pastor and Salt Media Group of Companies director explained that he sat down with his committee and realized that the money was not enough to establish the work.
Bugingo noted that in 2019, they estimated that they would need 100 billion. With the change in the economy and rise in prices, the money has skyrocketed to 120 billion, and they have not collected a tenth of that amount so far.
“It is very hard to start the foundation with less than a tenth of the money needed. All the contractors that are needed for this job, need a deposit of 30% which is 30 billion. And the money we have collected is not 7 billion. It cannot bring us material on site to start the foundation,” Pastor Bujingo said.
Last year, the Pentagon construction was a topic in the media, and Pastor Bugingo has tried his best to give his followers a breakdown on how much they had collected and how far they have come in the construction plans.

His recent communication, however, has sparked mixed reactions among netizens, with many making it a point of mockery, especially on social media.
