The one half of the Maulana and Reign comedy duo Maulana Kasozi has been apprehended on accusations of neglecting his family. Nalugya Shubira Betty, the mother of Maulana’s three children, publicly stated that he has failed to fulfil his duties as a father for the past nine months.
Nalugya claims that whenever Maulana visits her, he prioritizes engaging in sexual activities with her and after gives her an insufficient amount of money, either Ugx 10 or 5K, for child care.
When she refused to participate in such activities, Maulana insisted on taking custody of the children, which she declined, stating that they were still young.
The case was brought before the family court at Mwanga II, where a final decision was reached. Maulana was ordered to pay Nalugya Ugx 15K daily for child care and contribute to their rent. Initially, he fulfilled the rent obligation for three months, specifically in June, July, and August of last year, but has since stopped.
Unfortunately, Nalugya was unable to meet this financial obligation, especially with her children’s imminent return to school. She further revealed that Maulana is currently evading capture, and the court has already issued an arrest warrant.
Maulana Kasozi defended himself on social media by stating that his former spouse suffered from a mental disorder. He further disclosed that she had attempted to poison both of them, emphasizing that he could not continue to be in a relationship with someone in such a condition.

However, earlier today, Maulana was arrested and taken into custody by the police, as seen in a video obtained by this website. In the video, Maulana can be seen being dragged into the police car and driven to an undisclosed police station.
