Ugandan singer Zani Lady C who is currently based in the US where she has been doing her music for the past 15 years has decided to try out to be part of the Grammy Awards. Although not yet nominated, Zani Lady C submitted her song titled Komawo and it is among the many songs that are up for a chance to be considered for the 67th Grammy nominations.
Komawo was released a month ago and it has been making rotation on Ugandan music channels like TV, Radio and also streaming on different platforms. Upon receiving the news, the singer went to her social media and urged her phones all over the world to support the song and push it as far as getting the Grammy nominations.
She has submitted to be considered in the category of Best African Music Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards happening in 2025.

If Zani Lady C’s consideration for a Grammy Awards goes through, it will make her another Ugandan artiste after singer Eddy Kenzo was considered and nominated in the 65th Grammy Awards in the category of Best Global Music performance.
The song Gimme Love featuring American singer Matt B was nominated in the same category with artists like Arooj Aftab and Anoushka Shankar, Burna Boy, Rocky Dawuni, Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini and Nomcebo Zikode.
The nomination was a big win for the Ugandan Music Industry although the prestigious accolade went to Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode from South Africa.
According to the Recording Academy, a founding partner of the Grammy Awards, an entry is a work that has been submitted for consideration.

That entry is sent to members of the Recording Academy, assuming it meets the criteria, to be voted on. From those votes, nominations for each category are derived. Being Grammy-nominated is a prestigious achievement but simply being entered is not.
The 67th Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and the nominations will be announced on November 8th.
