15th September 2023 has entered the history of Uganda’s entertainment and music industry as the Cindy vs Sheebah battle was held their music battle at Kololo Independence grounds.
Orchestrated by Victoria University, the two musicians who have long been claiming to be superior to each other, took to the stage to settle their musical grievances with music as the only ammunition.
The music battle saw each party’s fans storm the battleground (Kololo Independence grounds) to witness, and root for their respective musicians.
Gates were wide open by 7:00 AM, and by 10: AM revellers had started walking hither and dither to be part of the monumental event.
The venue security was slick, requiring attendees to go through multiple checkpoints for inspection and have their admittance tickets verified.
By 7:00 PM, both the regular and VIP areas were jam-packed with fun seekers, forcing the ushers to remove the seats in an effort to make more room.
By 7:30 PM, Dj Nimrod and Zahara Toto, the MCs for Cindy Sanyu and Sheebah Karungi, respectively, had taken onto the stage to charge up their respective fan bases.
At 9:09 PM, the stage in charge Isaac Daniel Kasuku alias Kasuku flipped the coin in the presence of Sheebah and Cindy’s representatives, before announcing the Karma Records boss as the first performer in the first round.
Sheebah and her entourage made a stunning grand entrance, as she reported on stage from the revellers’ side covered in white apparel.
She started her performance with her Kisasi Kimu song, followed by Baliwa, Malidadi, By the Way, Ice Cream, Twesana, Akuse, Jordan, Tunywe, and Nipe Yote amid cheers from the Sheebaholics.
At 9: 45PM dancehall singer Cindy Sanyu made her grand entrance enclosed in a white casket and commenced her performance with her Run the City song, Sun Set, One by One a collaboration with Nigerian star Skales, among others.
The two musicians took part in multiple other rounds and each round came with a new outfit and vibe. The night was made up of several unforgettable highlights, that will leave an unforgettable memory in the minds of whoever graced the event.
On the other hand, several music industry A-listers like Jose Chameleone, Lydia Jazmine, Pallaso, Kabako, Vyper Ranking, Navio, and many others graced the event.
However, the event had several avoidable glitches, like the sound which was engineered to the low expectations of some critics. Additionally, the event lighting technician also made it difficult for the stage manager to work with him but we hope this will be rectified next time.
Furthermore, the event crew members understood their assignment, as they worked tirelessly to make sure everything among the revellers was under check. These were severally seen retrieving injured partiers, as well as creating space to avoid suffocation since the two fan camp units were fully packed to the brim.
