Songstress Winnie Nwagi squashed the hopes of all that thought she would soon walk down the aisle with her lover, citing that she doesn’t measure her love and relationships by marriage or tangible objects like rings.
The Swangz Avenue diva and her lover Lord Sanie, real name Wasswa Hassan have been openly dating for months, igniting speculation that they would officially settle down eventually and start a family.
Winnie Nwagi, however, emphasizes that she is currently focusing on the present and enjoying their growing bond without any sort of pressure from the public for them to get married.
Ugandans use weddings to weigh relationships but there are very many people out there who publicly walked down the aisle but never came out to reveal their separation. I do not weigh my relationship based on weddings or rings. Personally, I live in the moment because life is short. I will just enjoy our love today and not care about what will happen tomorrow. Right now, I’m enjoying being loved, Winnie Nwagi revealed.
The self-styled Fire Baby confessed that she has had a fair share of heartbreaks in the past because she was the one forcing the relationships.
The feelings were not mutual but with Lord Sanie, Winnie Nwagi is confident in his genuine love and affection, noting that their union is not one-sided.
When asked about her confidence that Lord Sunie was her soulmate without committing, Winnie Nwagi tags it to her instincts which she feels are right.
I just feel it. You always know when someone doesn’t love you back. Everyone prefers to go where they are loved and that is where I’m at. I’m very happy; you know the most adorable thing for a woman is to have someone who loves her truly. At least I can say, I’m with someone who loves me and I love him. In my past relationships, I used to force love but not this one. I know it is not one sided, she noted.
Before they made it official, the love birds had appeared in public together on a number of occasions and when people started questioning their closeness, Lord Sanie came out in the media last year, stating that they were just friends. Not until Valentine’s Day this year when he showered her with a lot of gifts, confirming their heated romance.
Winnie Nwagi has consistently declined to discuss their affair in the media with the aim of protecting it from public criticism and trolls.
