Gen Saleh petitions Eddy Kenzo to halt artists’ visits to Gulu, says they disrupt his work

The Chief Coordinator of Operations Wealth Creation, General Salim Saleh commonly known as Gen Saleh has petitioned the appointed Presidential Advisor on creatives, Eddy Kenzo together with Ugandan Musicians Association president Cindy Sanyu to put a halt on musicians travelling to Gulu, especially this festive season.

In a letter scribbled and signed by Gen Saleh, he expressed his concerns regarding the many artists flocking to Gulu where he resides, noting that they are interfering with his work and programs in Northern Uganda.

The OWC leadership advises all stakeholders in the creative arts to remain mindful of their engagements and align with national priorities aimed at socio-economic transformation.

Collaboration and mutual respect for development efforts are essential as we work towards uplifting communities across Uganda,” read part of the statement that was shared on their official OWC X/ Twitter page.

It has become a norm for musicians to travel to Gulu and even when they travel for their privately booked shows, they end up requesting to meet the General for handouts, something that he says interferes with his work.
