Bebe Cool Intends to Sue Airtel Uganda For Unexplained Data Depletion Demands Ugx 200M in Damages

Gagamel International singer Bebe Cool has issued an intention to sue letter and threatened to take legal action against Airtel Uganda after his 17 GB data bundle was unexpectedly depleted.

In January of this year, Bebe Cool expressed his dissatisfaction with Airtel Uganda’s services when he noticed that his subscribed data bundle had significantly decreased.

He had purchased 22 GBs of data at 21:56, but to his surprise, he received an alert stating that only 5 GBs were remaining, with 17 GBs mysteriously disappearing after just a single click on TikTok.

Shortly after, he received another alert informing him that his account had no active data bundle.

As a result, Bebe Cool issued an ultimatum to Airtel, demanding the return of his unused data before 10:00 am the following morning.

However, the telecom company refused to comply with his request. Today, Bebe Cool sent an intention-to-sue letter, requesting an inventory and usage chart of his mobile data bundle between January 16th, 2024, at 21:56 hrs and January 17th, 2024, at 1:00 am.

He also demanded a refund for his unused data bundle, and UGX 100,000,000 (One hundred million), as compensation for his travel expenses and an additional UGX 100,000,000 (One hundred million) of inconveniences caused within 21 days from the date of receipt of the letter.
