According to reports, the Catholic Church resolutely refused to pray for the late Kato Lubwama’s body as initially intended.
On 7th June 2023, singer, actor and former Lubaga South Member of Parliament Kato Lubwama breathed his last en route to the hospital after collapsing in his car.
Based on his will, Kato Lubwama suggested that he should be mourned for seven days before being laid to rest at his ancestral home.
Earlier today, Kato Lubwama’s lifeless body was taken to his marital home in Mutundwe, where mourners from all walks of life had been waiting to pay their last respects.
However, in accordance with the initial funeral plans, the catholic church was supposed to pray for Kato’s remains, but this was cancelled citing he didn’t believe in God.
This saw House of Prayer Ministry International lead Pastor Aloysius Bugingo take control and presided over the prayers.
Abbey Mukiibi, one of the funeral committee’s chairs, disclosed that Kato Lubwama’s body will remain at his home till Monday.
The body will subsequently be transported to National Theatre for the principal memorial service, after which it will be transported to Nkozi on Tuesday and interred on Wednesday.
