Masaka-based businessman Emmanuel Lwasa is currently being sought by the Uganda authorities in connection with an outstanding debt of Ugx 18 million.
It is believed that the debt was accrued by Lwasa as a result of the advertisements he placed on one of the media stations in the country.
Despite repeated attempts by the station to recover the debt, Lwasa has failed to make any payments towards it, leading to legal action being taken against him.
As per the attorney’s statement, they diligently completed all necessary legal procedures to personally serve the city tycoon, including through news bulletins, his offices, and his social media platforms.
However, despite these efforts, the tycoon has adamantly declined to fulfil the financial obligations.
The authorities hence issued a warrant for Lwasa’s arrest and are actively searching for him. They have urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward and assist in the investigation.
