Songstress Iryn Namubiru has expressed her frustration towards this era of the music industry which she says has lost meaning and direction.
Iryn is one of the celebrated top female artists and vocalists in the country who have been ruling the charts for decades.
Unlike their golden era years back when music lovers cared more about how talented an artist was, it is not the case anymore as fans shifted their focus to trending artists and those that boast a huge following on social media.
Namubiru accused music lovers of following famous trends and in the process, they end up sidelining those who are gifted. This has left many talents struggling to be recognized despite putting in all the hard work and investing in their craft.

The music industry isn’t about who is more talented anymore – it is about who is trending. It has become a popularity contest and too many real artists are being overlooked because their follower count doesn’t match their talent,” She shared.
Fellow artists flooded the comment section in support of her argument.
