John Segawa, Conrad Lubwama Accuse Lil Pazo Lunabe of Plagiarizing Late Kato Luwama’s Song “Kirabe Ebiiso”

Film director and actor John Segawa and the late Kato Lubwama’s son Saabwe Conrad Lubwama accuse singer Lil Pazo Lunabe of redoing the late Kato Lubwama and Immaculate Nabiryo’s song “Kirabe Ebiiso.”

Yesterday Lil Pazo Lunabe released his rendition of “Kirabe Ebiiso,” which he titled “Irena” a dedication to his longtime crush and fellow singer Irene Ntale.

However, Lil Pazo’s decision rubbed the wrong way a section of music lovers, including John Segawa and the late Kato Lubwama’s son Saabwe Conrad Lubwama.

Taking to his X handle, John Segawa deemed Lil Pazo’s rendition plagiarism, before urging him to look for those responsible for the late Kato Lubwama’s estate and creative works, to apologize, and to seek permission to use the song before it was too late.

John Segawa went on to tag concerned parties, like the Uganda Musicians Musicians Federation (UNMF) president Eddy Kenzo and music maestro Mesach Semakula to intervene in the matter.
