The recently crowned Miss Uganda Natasha Nyonyozi has become the subject of criticism on social media after her visit to the disaster-stricken Kiteezi.
The country was hit by a devastating collapse of the rubbish heap in the area, resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of property. While many appreciated her gesture of support and mourning with the bereaved, her choice of attire sparked outrage.
Dressed in her crown and a sash, Natasha Nyonyozi visited the affected area to show support but unfortunately, her appearance was perceived as insensitive by netizens.
The videos and photos of her visit went viral on social media platforms and had users questioning why she would not come dressed in a more appropriate way for the intended occasion.
Many of them expressed their disappointment in her attire, noting that it was contradicting the suffering and devastation in her surroundings. While her intentions were to comfort, her fashion choice completely overshadowed the gesture.
