The Nyege Nyege 2023 festival was nothing short of impressive, leaving no space for dissatisfaction. The festivities organized by Talent Africa Group, commenced on Thursday (9 Nov.) with an official opening by Uganda’s 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga.
Spanning four days, the event offered a thrilling and action-packed experience for attendees from all walks of life. It served as a platform for diverse cultures to showcase their norms and values.
The accommodation industry in Jinja witnessed a significant boom, with hotels being fully booked well in advance of the event.
Gates were opened early to ensure that revellers could enjoy the best experience possible until late hours. The organizers prioritized security, implementing numerous checkpoints to safeguard the well-being of all participants.
To curb any sort of violent incidents, the well-equipped security personnel was ready to ensure swift intervention.
The event also proved to be a lucrative opportunity for businesses, including food vendors and outfit sellers, who experienced a surge in demand.
The entertainment provided was nothing short of exceptional, with a star-studded lineup that exceeded the expectations of the attendees. On the third day, a spectacular fireworks display illuminated the sky, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the Nyege Nyege festival.
Notable performers included A Pass, Kasrole Kasita, Eddy Kenzo, DJ Alisha, and South Africa’s Sho Madjozi, among many others.
