Police arrest 2 internet users who bragged about illegally accessing content on stolen phones

The Uganda police have today confirmed arresting two suspects who bragged about stealing phones and cracking them.

This morning, a video clip made rounds on social media, showing two youths bragging about stealing and illegally accessing content on gadgets.

The video has since caused a stir on social media, as netizens urged the authorities to apprehend the culprits.

The Police responded swiftly, as the two suspects were arrested and taken into custody at Kampala Metropolitan Station.

According to the Spokesperson Patrick Onyango, the two acknowledged recording the video, however, they claimed to be seeking social media popularity and followers.

Upon their arrest and interrogation, two phones, a laptop, and one flash disk were recovered from them.

Despite making videos for likes and popularity, the authorities revealed that the suspects are to be arraigned before the court of law, and this should serve as an example to others who may consider engaging in similar activities.
