Producer Didi Attributes his Suffering to the Government Seizing his Studio Equipment Following His Arrest in 2014

At the start of this week, Producer Didi appeared in an interview in a very sorry state, crying out for help from musicians he shared with his producing talent before his career hitting the rock bottom.

Didi explained that his detention in 2014 for orchestrating the pornographic song “Ensolo Yange” by “Panadol wa basajja” was the main cause of his anguish.

It should be remembered that in 2014, rising star Jemimah Kansiime alias Panadol W’abasajja embarked on a music project with Didi that landed into trouble after the Uganda government deemed it pornographic.

The two were taken into custody and accused of wilfully and intentionally creating, trafficking, selling, and promoting pornography contrary to the laws that govern the country.

When arraigned before the Makindye court, Panadol W’abasajja denied the charges and was sent to Luzira prison. Didi, on the other hand, pleaded guilty to the charges and coughed a fine of UGX 200,000 before being released.

Producer Didi stressed that on his return from prison to commence his career, the government had seized all his music studio equipment as affidavits and they’ve never returned up to date.

The soft-spoken producer went ahead to note that this was the turning point of his wretched life, citing his music studio was the primary source of income to sustain his life and family.
