Renowned TikToker Nalubowa Teddy has today been remanded to Luzira Prison following her negative remarks and jubilation over the late Gen. Tumwine’s Death.
Following the death of former security minister Gen. Elly Tumwiine, the internet was sent into a frenzy as a section of Ugandans threw tantrums toward the deceased including 27-year-old Teddy Nalubowa.
The action didn’t impress some top government officials, friends and relatives of the deceased.
In an effort to set an example to other social media users, Nalubowa was picked by security officials from her home and detained at an unknown destination.
13 days later, Nalubowa who subscribes to the NUP political wing, was arraigned before the Buganda Road Grade One magistrate, Ms Marion Mageni before being charged with offensive communication contrary to section 25 of the Computer Misuse Act 2011.
Nalubowa who pleaded not guilty to the cases slapped against her revealed that her reaction toward Gen. Elly Tumwine’s death emanated from the influence of alcohol and she doesn’t remember anything concerning the allegations.
She was then remanded to Luzira Prison by Ms Mageni until September 26 when she will be returned to court for the second hearing of her cases.
Upon learning about the development, NUP party leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine took to his socials and heavily criticized the government’s act of illegally detaining Nalubowa Teddy and smuggling her into Court in the absence of lawyers.
Bobi Wine further revealed that he is grateful to their legal team that had moved to court to secure an order for Nalubowa’s unconditional release.
