Being A Pastor’s Wife Deprived Me Of My Privacy’ – Susan Makula

Pastor Aloysius Bugingo’s wife, Susan Makula, has opened up on how much being a pastor’s wife deprived her of her privacy.

Taking to her show at Salt TV, the Makula show, Susan Makula discussed the challenges she has faced ever since she made the decision to get married to city pastor Aloysious Bujingo.

The couple officially legalized their relationship in 2021 in a traditional Kwanjula ceremony. They have been vocal about it despite the controversy. Makula may be enjoying her marriage, but she revealed that she no longer has a private life since she is married to a popular city pastor.

“Being a pastor’s wife is a beautiful thing but very challenging. The man I’m married to is not only a pastor but a public figure in the limelight. Everything he does attracts people’s attention. Being his wife is challenging. It is fun but it puts my life in the limelight too. I enjoy it but I have no privacy. I’m open to scrutiny and people’s expectations of me are very high,” she said.

Another challenge comes from her husband’s church, ‘House Of Prayer,’ where the church members always look up to her and expect her to live a pure and blameless life. There are things she cannot do because of everyone else’s high expectations, lest she will be judged.

“For example, at church, they expect me to be perfect. Like having 100 scriptures on a daily basis. Every time a person comes to talk to you, you have to quote a scripture from the Bible,” she revealed.

When it comes to the members of the general public, they look at her as an embodiment of decency. They are always questioning her choice of outfits because she is a pastor’s wife.

“They keep questioning my sense of fashion but I can’t even get mad. As long as you are in the limelight, all that is said about you,” she noted.

But even with all the scrutiny and judgement, she enjoys every bit of her life. She gets to feel the love from the people around them.

“The fun bit is I get to be loved. Whoever loves pastor Bugingo will fall in love with the wife,” Susan Makula concluded.
