Ugandan South Africa-based socialite and businesswoman, Zari Hassan has come forward to clarify a statement she made about her husband, Shakib Cham which sparked widespread criticism.
Last month, the couple was a topic of discussion on social media, after Zari openly lashed out at Shakib, accusing him of being insecure about her ex-boyfriend Diamond Platnumz when he visited their home to surprise their daughter Tiffah on her birthday.
During the meltdown via social media live broadcast, Zari claimed that her husband ‘brings nothing to the table’, leading many to assume she was referring to his financial contributions.
However, upon her return to the country from South Africa, Zari in an interview defended her statement, saying that it was taken out of context. She explained that ‘bringing something to the table’ encompasses more than just financial support, but also emotional support and advice.
Zari argued that she sometimes needs her husband to listen to her problems and offer guidance, which is essential for her well-being. She also claimed that people judged her for the outburst without knowing the full story, likening it to a tree whose blossoming leaves hide the fertilizers and hard work that go into its growth.
